Teams & locations
Current release · Updated October 4, 2026
Organize current workspace members into teams and offices without changing access.
Create a team or location
Open Settings - Teams & locations. Owners and administrators can create and edit; every current workspace member can read. Choose Teams or Locations, search by name and filter Active, Archived or All. The directory shows25 items per page. Names are unique within each kind, ignoring case, including archives. A workspace supports500 teams and500 locations.
Save useful details
For a location, save name, description, address, city, country and a valid IANA timezone such as Asia/Kolkata. That timezone is descriptive and does not change workspace reporting or Calendar availability. For a team, save name, purpose, optional active location and an optional current workspace member as lead. Choosing a lead automatically adds them to that team; changing the lead keeps the previous person as an ordinary member.
Assign current teammates
Open the detail page, choose Add workspace member and save the assignment. Search and page through current member names. Remove from team or location removes only that assignment. Clear or change a team lead before removing them. Location assignments are direct: associating a team with an office does not automatically assign its people to that location. Group membership and leadership do not grant administration or record permissions, change workspace roles or consume extra seats. Removing someone through Team members also removes their group assignments and clears their leadership.
Archive safely and handle conflicts
Archive keeps details and assignments readable. Restore before editing or assigning people again. Active teams must move or archive before their location can archive; restore the location before restoring an associated team. Changes use the current version. If someone changes the item while you edit, your input remains visible until you choose Reload saved details. After a timeout, check the saved item before retrying; after an uncertain create, check the directory. Archiving and restoring use saved details, so save any pending detail changes first.
